What is Fruit Punch?

Fruit Punch is a two-player local multiplayer fighting game, where mutant-like fruits and vegetables fight each other.

This game is still in early development, so bugs will likely occur.

Why early access?

We wanted to try and publish our project as the version that we used to pass our course. It's just to see if anyone wants this so we would know if we should continue and also to know any improvement ideas.

What even is our Team DataPUM Game Studio?

DataPUM comes originally from Onni Ruohola and his friend who were talking about old drum machines. They thought fills sounded like "papatum" which later became DataPUM and then later it became the name of our Team. We would like to clarify that DataPUM has indeed a weird logo but it is not to offend anyone. This entire thing came from a joke and is not meant to insult anyone!

Will there be further developement?

Due to the fact that the developers of Fruit Punch are currently in upper secondary school (and because this game was entirely for a class project), we are not sure if we will improve this game atleast in the near future. We still might continue this game even further with more arenas, characters and overall more polish but only if people like this early version of Fruit Punch and we still have motivation and we find time for it. 

Of course we ourselves have to remember and also remind everyone, school comes first and this game as second.

How did this game even got its idea?

So the reason we ever even got the idea for this game was for a class. Somewhere in December of 2023 Eemil Seppälä got an idea for the class project, that he told to Onni Ruohola first. Around this time it was about three weeks before the course would have began. The idea was so dumb and sounded fun so that we decided to also tell our other developers Kosmo Konttila and Atte Aalto-Setälä, this is where our spam of ideas started. We decided to not go for so large so that we could even finish it. We decided to go with four characters and a single arena. Then around 9th of April 2024 during our test week on this courses test day we finished the game and decided to publish it.
